dishwasher drain hose connector breaking

    Hoping to get some advice.

I have a problem with the plastic nut that secures my dishwasher drain hose to the drain under my kitchen sink - they keep on cracking. I've gone through 3 of them in the last 12 months!!

They have all broken in the same place. I don't think I am tightening it too much - I'm just using my fingers and not a wrench of any type - and the hose itself is propped up so it's not putting pressure on the joint.

    Any ideas?

I don't seem to be able to attach a picture as I don't have enough posts.
