i am no EU citizen working and paying PRSI contributions for last 4 years.
may leave this country in an year. never claimed anything (maternity/illness benefit etc)under PRSI.
state pension eligibilty is only after contributing for 10 years. so will miss it.

I know PRSI contribution is like paying premium for insurance, where we can claim but premium will never be returned.
but is there a chance to get contributions back if permanently leaving Ireland.(/EU) may be a stupid question..

The taxation forum might be a better place to ask?

I know that you can get a PAYE refund for the current year if you leave the country. I can't imagine that the PRSI is refundable. Granted, you didn't make a claim, but the facility was there for you to make one.

It's unlikely as you will not have been paying PRSI in error. I suggest reading the PRSI Refunds page on the DSP website (funny enough it's the first result on google) for more information.

If it's still as clear as mud, contact your local citizens information office.

You may be entitled to a PAYE refund at the end of the year as revenue routinely refund overpaid tax (when asked nicely, with the appropriate forms).
