Failed p6 with a ridiculously low mark! Does anyone know if its worth appealing or pointless? 😔

How many marks did you get? I have heard that appealing is a waste of time that they rarely change the results. Even people who have appealed with 49 marks didn't get them changed. Balls we have to do it again

Lads, has anyone the stats? What were the pass rates?

And when is the deadline to sign up for next sitting?

I only got 18% which is insane as I sat it last year and did no study and got 25% so when I studied loads this time I really thought I got somewhere between 45 and 55 mark! I almost just wanna see if they added them up wrong cause I was quite happy with the paper! Do they actually re check the paper or just tell you if you passed or failed each question? Just gutted :(

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 179 ✭✭Lovbnmoma

I don't think that they give you a very detailed report back on it but I have never got one so im not sure.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 8 edelhopkins

Yeah might not be worth my while! Thanks for your help!
If anyone else has appealed or knows about it let me know! :)

Got 50 in P3 (at the 4th time of asking!) & 51 (2nd time) in P7, was full sure I didnt get either so I'm over the moon :D:D

How do the pass rates stack up to previous sittings? Apologies to anyone who didnt get either of these papers, but I actually thought they were relatively handy papers so im surprised the pass rates are as low as they are

Passed F4 73%, P1 75%. Such a relief. Congrats to everyone who passed.

    I failed F6 - 41%. I'm gutted.

I got married in June and I knew that I would be under pressure with the wedding but I underestimated just how much time would be spent faffing about over paper work (we have different nationalities, languages & religions etc.). Then a bridesmaid bust up kicked off and I put in literally hours of listening to them talking about each other over a hen party that eventually never happened. I was a wreck before I even got into the exam hall and that poxy VAT Q at the end was all I needed.

Congrats on getting married. I've failed before and it is the worst feeling. However, it's also great motivation for future exams. This accountancy malarkey is a marathon not a sprint. Keep the head up and go again.

    F7 73%
P1 50% (squeaky bum moment there!)
    P3 61%

Delighted but there is no way i'm taking three at once again!

Congrats to all who passed and my heart goes out to anyone who didn't

Only took P3 and passed at 58% (thought it would be closer to 50)

    Well done everyone.

Can't believe we are back again to classes etc.... Going to take two in Dec.

P4 for sure but undecided between Audit (stragely I think Im good at it) and P5 (the easier option but I hated F5).

Hopefully I'll be qualified this year!

P5 is definitely not an easy option paper, this might have been the case some years back but times have changed and the examiner is tough. It has had the lowest pass rate now for the past three sittings

    Maybe I'll skip it. I really didn't like f5.

Would p4 and p7 be a decent combo? How big of a step up from f8 is p7 anyone?

    P2 - 53%
    P3 - 78%

I was so sure I failed both, still cannot believe I really passed them. Especially P3 was horrible and I felt I had absolutely nothing to write down in the exam :D

I will go for P4 & P5 next. I think P7 would be easier than P5, but I'm never going to work in audit and think P5 will help me more in future.

P5 has some similarities to P3, it's not a difficult syllabus but the exam is a tough test of the theory application. I didn't mean to put you off it, just to underline it's not to be taken lightly.

I've heard P7 is marked extremely tough as it's the only paper you need should you wish to open your own audit firm, you could be hitting 90%, make a fundamental error and get marked down to 49

They're all tough to be fair, just go with your gut and give it your all

Passed P3 which I was convinced I would fail. Now onto the option papers. I think I will do P5 at Xmas and P6 next June.

    P6 - 55% Last exam done and dusted - so relieved :-)

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 709 ✭✭✭frogstar

Thanks shady . Ah no you're not putting me off I'm just really torn.

I keep picking one and then change my mind.

I enjoy the p4 syllabus but could tale or leave the other two. At this stage just want them over with

I went to DBS, Sharon Sheehan is the lecturer and she is absolutely brilliant, I fully recommend DBS for F4

Sharon is class for F4....She even got me 70% in it and I was brutal at Law....She has the exam down to a tee...
