    Hi. Just looking for advice.

I use my phone (android) for running with map my run. I'd like to get a heart rate monitor and be able to connect its data to the map my run app on my phone.

I've been thinking recently that I'd like to get one of the new android wear devices (moto 360 when it comes out). Just wondering if the watch can be used to record all the data for map my run app in a simple way or if I'm better off getting a dedicated Bluetooth hrm.

Little is known about the 360 in terms of features, except what Motorola have announced. However, a recent leak did say that it will come with a heart rate monitor built in. It should be good for a sports watch I reckon, and I don't doubt a lot of sports related apps will be made.

Can't imagine the optical hrm being much use for a runner tbh. I don't think I've ever read a decent review of one. Honestly, as someone who's quite excited by the 360, I'd buy a strap and a Garmin watch if I was serious about the running.

If the Samsung is anything to go by, then I wouldn't have too high expectations. You will need your phone with you as the watch has no GPS and reads data from the phone, plus the heart sensor is rubbish in the Samsung. It only gives you a one time reading about 10 seconds after you ask for it.

Thanks guys. I was hoping that the hrm on the 360 wasn't going to be a gimic but it sounds like it is. That's a pity. Will be a bit harder to justify buying.
