Shipping a sideboard from UK

Apologies if this is the wrong forum.

I intend to purchase a retro gplan sideboard and a set of nested tables. There is way more choice in the UK, i've come accross an ebay supplier who has a few pieces which i might be interested in.

They do ship to ireland, they gave a quote of £280 for a sideboard.

Is there a cheaper way to bring furniture from the UK to Ireland?

I've looked at renting a van and getting the ferry over (supplier is in manchester) but it works out at about the same.

Has anyone any experience in shipping stuff from UK to Ireland? I don't mind how long it takes (up to a month would be fine).

    TIA
