I'm interested in getting one of the new 16-18 child leap cards that have been recently introduced. However, I have no form of photographic ID, bar a passport that has been out of date for over two years. Though I do have a few forms of non photographic ID, and my mother has a passport and drivers license, and possibly other forms of ID. Would I be able to get one of these leap cards with the ID I have combined with my mother's? Or would I have to get a valid photographic ID myself?

I'd ring up Dublin bus or somewhere and see if the out of date passport is fine. But your mother's ID would have nothing to do with it.

Has the passport got your picture and your date of birth on it?

To paraphrase Dara O'Briain, 'it's still you'.

Yeah in Dublin bus they give a cursory glance at the driving licence, I honestly doubt they'd even notice the passport was cancelled ;)
