Lost Galaxy S3, restore contacts?

    Hello,

    I lost my Samsung Galaxy S3 last weekend. I have replaced it with an HTC ONe M8 just today.

    For some reason, I had thought that my contacts were backed up to Google somehow, (along with photos, installed apps etc.). It seems to me this may not have been the case. A tad annoying to say the least! My new phone (HTC) has installed all my previous apps, photos etc, but no phone contacts!

    I'm just wondering does anyone know if they would have been backing up to a Samsung backup, that I could somehow restore from?

    Log in online via a PC and check that all your contacts are in the "My Contacts" group. For some reason if they're not, they don't show up. At least on my S5/account they don't.
