Hi all. hope this is proper forum.

Recently I requested full record of my PRSI contributions from revenue and they are missing so many of them stating I haven't been working in 1987-1992.
    I have been employed 1987 - 1992 then had a gap until 2004.
Despite me having payslips (earlier not possible) from 2004-2010 revenue is saying I have no paid contributions in some of the years.

I can prove I had workedd in 2004-2010 cos I have payslips, but what can I do about the missing 5 years between 87-92 years?

    any advice?

Who did you contact? Are you sure it was revenue? The correct people to contact are the Department of Social Protection, Buncrana, see links.

If they don't have the records, you will have to go back to your employer at the time.

both are missing the records, yet when I went to revenue they could issue me P21 for 2005 where they claim in later letter that they have no record.
    the same Bruncranas office.

when it comes to years 87-92 I was told by revenue member that many records were lost as it was only paper trail.

not sure how can I prove it now, after so many years.

Are you sure your employer paid PRSI?

see that's the thing. in 1987-1992 I was just a in my late teens/twenties so things were paid by cheque.

but the funny thing is that I have a payslips with my PRSI on them for 2005 and P21 from Revenue, yet Revenue claims there was no contributions for that year.

I already contacted Bruncrana's office to investigate this.

The P21 from Revenue would only show your income and tax paid, it does not include your PRSI contributions. Maybe give Revenue a ring and get them to check their P35L records to see what the employer submitted for you for 2005. They will be able to check the amount of PRSI weeks the employer put down for you on the employer P35 returns and the amount of PRSI paid for you.
Was your employer in 1987 to 1992 using the correct pps number for you? This could be another reason why records can't be located. Have you got P60's for these years..
