S4 glass replacement & root

    Is there anywhere in Dublin that will do both for me while I wait or can anyone here do it for a reasonable cost .

    not sure about the glass replacement, but download 'towelroot' app and that will root your phone in seconds.

    Try Jackophones this been recommended here he is based in Swords and fixes screens

    My S4 screen smashed but not to bad waiting for spare cash before heading out to him

    I'm well capable of rooting via Odin etc, but can't be bothered with the downloading of files/flashing etc.

    This one click method sounds ideal I tbh. (currently on an unrooted note3)

    Towelroot:

    Go there with your browser.....on device is easiest, but you could d/l and transfer it to device.

    On your device, click the Lamda, d/l the apk, install [make sure you can install it, like tick "unknown sources" in Settings/Security usually, can vary, look for it's online].

    I use vRoot all the time, never fails, has all necessary drivers, will install them, it's not One Click, installs on your PC, but it's a solution for almost any device, and they constantly update it.....

    but it is mostly Chinese, although obvious what to do.

    It installs the Chinese Superuser apk, but you can simply replace this with SuperSU from Play:

    It will remove the Chinese Superuser App, and update binary.

    **EDIT, here is a tutorial for removing the Chinese Superuser, and other stuff. I never had any problem, but apparently there can be some, just read here and it may help you in the event of a problem with "knox" security or whatever....

    Get Busybox too, for further root functionality.....
