Okay I reckon it has to be the unit itself as I lost the channels when we had a power cut.

I dont have a spare aerial to check the aerial but I rang the crowd I bought it from and they immediately told me to bring it in and they will upgrade. I am not sure what they will upgrade?

I am using an E2 image that I got from here. Are they referring to some form of firmware code or was he just getting me to bring it in to extract money.

I am thinking I will bring it in as at least they can test it there and then.

Advice would be welcome - thanks

They'll probably flash another image. What you could do is ask them to check with a different aerial first before wiping the image you installed.

Have you reset the box since the problem started as in flicked the switch at the back of the box?

Went a step further and booted back to the original Spark image - same issue.

Thanks for the suggestion tho. And yep I fully expect he thinks I am a complete novice and is just going to flash an image but as you say I will let him test it there and we can get to the root of it.

Is your TV saorview compatible? Could check the aerial on that to eliminate that.

If your handy with flashing images ,make a backuo of your current set up and flash another image.Might save some time not having to wait for the shop to do it.

Edit: did you rescan your frequencies? If so were any stations found?

Nah FP it is an older TV so no use testing with direct connection. I dont think re-flashign will do anything as i have tested with a second image by using the Spark image.

Re-scanned and it found 0 channels This is why I am lead to think it is a hardware issue with the box.

    thanks again

sometimes on spark my search finds nothing , i reboot and it works fine

you could update your spark and try also

the warranty is only on the spark operating system not the e2
