Clean Booster for Acoustic Guitar?

I fitted a shadow pickup to my guitar ages ago, although it sounds great it doesn't always have as much volume as I'd like.

I found this in particular when playing at a local festival last Monday, having said that I was competing with a marquee next to me with a band in it. Although that's a whole other thing.

I'm just a singer/guitarist. I have no trouble making my voice loud enough but can be tricky with guitar sometimes.

A Boss EQ pedal, or any EQ pedal should do the trick.

A Boss blues driver with the gain rolled off would do the trick too.

There might be specific boost pedals as well, but I wouldn't know.

Do you use a DI box?

I don't use a different. Just straight into pa. I have a boss super overdrive, that would work similar to blues driver.

I dont think the SD1 would be clean enough but give it a try

I use a Z Vex Super Hard On clone which boosts it perfectly with no colouring
An EH LPB 1 ( about €30 new ) would do the exact same job as they are both good clean boosts
The eq would also be a good option especially if theres no eq on the pickup
You could also use a Compressor but it might colour your sound a bit, maybe in a good way though!

Try a DI box before you get anything else. Those shadow pickups aren't great, in my experience, but if you stick it through a DI box, then into the PA, it really boosts the clean sound. You'll pick up a generic one which should do the trick in a shop or on thomann etc
