R9 280x Issues

My R9 280x arrived in the post this morning. Up until now I have been using a gtx570 phantom but finally felt the need to upgrade. I seated and connected all the power cable. All drivers that were previously on the machine have been wiped and the bios are up to date.

However when I boot it, I don't get as far as bios, it's just a no signal message on the screen. So I've ended up reinstalling the phantom, I assume I should just RMA it as it's probably a faulty card?

Had this problem as well, more than likely the card was not getting enough power

Either the PSU was not powerful enough or the 2 power cables were not plugged in correctly

Also if the fans of the GPU spin, it is not a full indication that the card is getting enough power.
