i have two nice may 2013 fresian bullocks, one weighs 525kg, the second 505, according to the local mart bullocks made €2.46 per kilo, this week, i assume that is for the top contintal breeds, what can i expect, i have a guy wanting to buy them in the field, thanks.

nb i made a big booba on the weights, which i have now rectified.

I bought 14 square friesians Kilkenny mart last week. March born. Avg 485 kgs. €670. And I would consider it plenty for them. Taking a very good big friesian to kill 1200 at minute.

mine are only 14 months and weigh 525kg and 505kg so shoud be a different market. at 30 months are they not too old for top factory value.

At 10c/kg it makes little or no difference. That 580lg FR looks value even if he is a bit narrow. Two option with him,if a goodish square animal, gras and nuts and he should kill 333-350kgs in November. If a narrow bullock I would grass store over winter and kill next june.

Give it a month and €850 will buy 420kg plus goodish continentals.

Problem is that is a months time, those cattle cannot be finished before Christmas. The reality if that Fr were square and you had grass and managed 1kgs/day with grass and ration. He be 670kgsLW they would kill 330kgs a price of 3.4/kg would give you a 125-150 euro margin at least over direct costs.

Friesians weighing bad for their age can be picked up anytime. Now granted I haven't seen the animal but with the summer we had its unlikely to be hunger that held him back. If you look for bargains in a strong market you will end up with expensive screws.

my last post on this thread, just back from tipp mart, it was three times bigger thaan last week, i was home shortly after three last week, our cattle did not sell until after three, ok the info is below, the general opinion is that it was down.
    2 x fresian weight 510kg €1610
    2 x angus weight 509kg 1580
1x black fresian 450kg 660 (vet says it is an aa x)
    1 x jersey fr x 400kg 450

so the story is over until next may, there should be 4 jersey x's for sale, there is a probability that a fresian hefir near calving will also be going card has a note attached that she is a nrpb suitable for breeding aand dairy, dunno yet, she was bought with the intention of a suckler, but who knows.
