Hi all, myself and a friend were arrested in a different town on the June bank holiday past under the drunken in a public place(section 4). It was totally our fault we were being obnoxiously loud. We were both issued with fixed penalties in lieu of court. Alas we completely forgot and only remembered today which is 1 day over the last day they can apparently accept payment. Can anybody please tell me of the options we are left with as of now? We are happy to pay the fines. Please say we are not doomed to criminal records, it's our first time ever in trouble also, we are both 24(I know long enough in the tooth to know right from wrong)

I'd probably expect to get a summons soon if I were you. Is there no contact number on the fixed penalties you could try to ring and explain?

Though what you're gonna say to them, I really don't know! :D

Yeah @Duracell Bunny I am expecting an imminent summons tbh. There is a number but the lads just said that she can't accept payment as the 56 days has elapsed and this is day 57(just my luck/stupidity). I suppose all I can do is hold my hands up and plead with the judge to not give me a criminal record if that's in any way possible!

Tell them that you don't recognise the Gregorian calendar and that since the Saturday is the Sabbath, it shouldn't count as one of the 56 days.

That should give you another week, yes?
