No signal - LNB broken?

Hi folks, am wondering if you can help. I've been getting free stuff via an old sky box with card removed, along with my sturdy dish which I bought from satellite.ie about 6 years ago. Came home Sunday from the hols to find no signal from dish being reported from the sky box. At first the box was able to show the listings without a picture, but then it moved to 'no signal from dish'. I've tried 2 more old sky boxes (hoarder) and they show the same problem with no signal.

So with the rain that fell Sunday I wonder if the LNB has died. The dish is clean, the white cover on the front of the LNB has a weathering crack at 12 o'clock. Any ideas or has the sky satellite hit a speedbump out there?

If as you say you're dish is sturdy and the position has not moved, it has to be the LNB. You should be able to pick up one handy to try, be careful though if you are changing it whilst on a ladder.

A cracked feedhorn cover will allow moisture into the LNB, replaced an LNB myself in the past for the same reason.

thanks, yes the dish is tight alright so I'll have a go at replacing the LNB. Anywhere you can just walk in and buy one in the general M50 area?

    Satworld in Bluebell - http://www.satworld.ie/contact-us.html
    Zintek in Tallaght - http://www.zintek.ie/location.html

There are others, someone else may be able to advise further.
