Played in an open comp at the weekend and can see the results on the clubs page. However my handicap hasn't changed and im due to play in a comp at my own club this weekend. I was due a .1 to pick up a shot again. Not overly bothered about this but wondering why this wouldn't be showing up on my account and if I play in the comp this weekend with an incorrect hc could i be DQ'd?

You can only cut yourself and not add on 0.1's

So play off same handicap until it's adjusted.

Yes, you would be dqd if you add the shot to your handicap. You can only play it if the increase is posted by your club. Check before you play. It may be there. If not, you must play off the lower handcap.

Check golfnet to see is it there. I've seen instances where howdidido didn't update for days after golfnet.

Golfnet.ie has a record of the .1 but doesn't have the one I got the week before. Whereas howdidido has the one I got last weekend but not the weekend just past

Well Howdidido is just a private website whereas golfnet.ie is the GUI handicap database.
Not sure whether golfnet.ie is 'more official' than your handicap secretary but I'd rather go with that than with howdidido. In any case I wouldn't give myself an extra shot if it wasn't official. For starters you don't know what the standard scratch was on any given day. Sometimes there may not be a .1.
