Has anyone heard that from the 30th of sepetember that boxsets won't be available to customers anymore from sky unless you add the hd pack which is €15 a month so basically there gonna want us to pay more for what we already have! To get axcess to all boxsets now you need the entertainment plus package which is €36 a month and now from September they want us to subscribe to the hd pack to axcess them now!

Interesting question ... was a big part of their recent advertising campaign. And wonder if it is a material change to the contracts of those who might have signed up on the basis that they would have box sets and now will be looking at forking out an additional 15 a month to keep what they already have.

And Netflix is half the price!

This may cost them in the long run. It gives me another reason to cancel. I have a smart tv with freesat and saorview tuners. It has the now tv app and for £15 per month I can access the entertainment pack with 10 sky channels and all the movies on demand.

As of today their advertisements for on demand and box sets fail to mention the change on the 30th.

IMHO I think this is a major strategic error by Sky, I cannot see viewers being willing to fork out an extra 180 for a HD service that does not include RTE1 and UTV HD and thats before Irish viewers realise that UK viewers get HD as standard now on the equivalent extra bundle.

UK sky viewers need to get the family bundle to get all the sky hd tv channels, its not standard in the uk

I haven't activated yet as I'm on half price sky at the moment after cancelling and then getting a six month deal with a couple of days to go before my notice ended.
I presume the app will work as people with the box are able to receive now tv.
Its an lg tv and they emailed me vouchers for 3 months of movies and 7 sky sports day passes when I registered the purchase with them, so when my deal expires I will not be worried about cancelling.

Cancel. They'll come begging with offers. Guaranteed.

Or, stick to your guns and live with Saorview/Freesat/Netflix.

For TV in the UK there is the original and family bundle, in Ireland there is the original and variety pack.

The family bundle is the equivalent of the Irish variety aka the extra bundle.

There is no additional charge for HD and boxsets in the UK unlike Ireland for viewers on that package.

After 12 months, sky now tv will cost the same as the irish sky's original bundle
