Guys, just wondering if anyone has ever traded in clubs at Halpenny. I live quite close to their new store in Cork.

I won an Odyssey putter as a prize but i don't need a new putter. This putter still has the plastic on the head, is 100% new and unused

Would they allow me to trade it in against some other club?

Or would i be offered so little that it would be a silly thing to do

I'd find out where the prize was bought and take it back there if I was you. Not sure what Halpenny would give you as you have no receipt etc

It was a prize from a TopGolfer event so i can't really find out where it came from or take it back. It was probably sponsored

If they have the same putter in store or stock it then they should offer you a reasonable price but probably no where near their RRP.

I won a pair of Footjoy Sports and tested McGuirks in terms of returning them for a credit note (I already had vouchers for the store and looking to build enough for a laser or gps). They had the shoes in store for sale at €139 and since I said the prize was won in a society and I hadn't a receipt they'd only offer me €110 for the shoes as they claimed they offer societies a 20% discount when purchasing goods. I kept the shoes as felt their claim was a bit disingenuous as don't think they'd offer me the same 20% discount when/if purchasing a laser/gps.

I thought €110 wasn't a bad offer for the shoes, personally I would have taken it. Considering you wouldn't have a receipt and as it was a prize you'd still be gaining a €110 voucher you didn't have before you won the shoes

You live nearby the store? Why don't you just in with the putter and ask them?

    I never understand these threads.

I think their offer was most reasonable and I would not have expected them. They had no obligation to you or particular interest increasing their stock by 1 on the particular model and size you would have given them.
Kudos to McGuirks I would say (and am no particular fan of theirs by a long shot).
