    Hi,

I was just wondering if you can give me some advice please, I have been working in Galway for nearly 6 months and my contract is due to end again as there is no more work available.

I am currently paying rent in Galway but I will be moving back to my home county where I had jobseekers before in a smaller town so it will be somewhat easier to manage rent/bills.

Can I still apply for social welfare at my home county with my current Galway address until I find somewhere to rent in my home county?

I need to wait until my lease is up before I can return home so that I can get my deposit back to move into a place at home.

Thanks so much for your help.

    Kind regards,
    Vicki7833

You need to claim in the office nearest to where you live.

you could open the claim at you current address and then transfer the claim to local office when you move home, and just update your address then again when you started renting again,
