Folks, you may be able to shed some light here....
My car is taxed until 31/12/2014

Turns out i'm going to be out of the country all of December.

With the new system, can I declare my car off the road for December, and then get an extra months 'credit' when I go to buy my next round of tax in January?

    Or am I being delusional?

For tax purposes, I find it helpful to start with the presumption that anything that benefits you to any extent, no matter how reasonable it may seem to the casual observer, is not permitted.
