Is it too late to spray Thistles/Nettles?

Got some knapsack spraying done yday on weeds/grass,dry here again today,would it be too late in year now to spray tall thistles(almost a metre tall) and green healthy looking nettles....with a view to killing them for next year. Or should I leave them till Spring growth? Have some Grazon 90 in the garage.

Better off topping them thistles should be alright to spray the nettles
