Creches and garda vetting

Hi, looking for a steer on a fairly murky issue we're facing with our childcare provider. The creche is attached to a home and there are suggestions that an individual living in the home is, in the last few weeks, subject to allegations for interfering with a child many years ago.
Question1 - do people living in the home (with full and easy access to the kids) need garda vetting? Question 2- how often does garda vetting need to be updated? Question3- what onus is on the creche manager (if any) to notify parents and/or to suspend childminding services if the individual is indeed subject to these allegations and still lives in the home?

    Really appreciate any help.

You really need to see a solicitor.

All people 'being appointed or assigned or being allowed access to a child' in a crèche must have Garda vetting. If you have any concerns, you must contact the HSE (under the Children First legislation) http://www.tusla.ie/services/child-protection-welfare/contact-a-social-worker

If it is a creche no-one except the staff and parents should have access to the children. Regulation 8 of the 2006 Pre-school act covers garda vetting and applies to all childcare providers. All staff must have up to date garda vetting.

Why? What good would a solicitor be in this situation? Gardaí or HSE would surely be more appropriate.

Thanks for replies. Seems really strange to me that the gardai and/or hse haven't been in touch. even if the allegations are false (which we all hope is the case), surely parents have a right to know what's going on so they can decide whether to take action

Suggestion of an allegation? Seems concrete to me.

If in doubt remove your child.
