I'm looking at the possibility of going to Colombia for a honeymoon. I've heard of plenty of people going there on backpacking trips, none for a fancier time. Any recommendations for some nice spot for a week of sun and relaxing.

Yeah, Cartagena, Santa Marta and San Andrés are your best bets. The good and the bad:
    - Cartagena:
Good: Historic Centre (UNESCO WH Site). Bad: Lot of poverty beyond the walls, people pissing on the walls so there's a faint smell of urine in places, crowded beach unless the hotel has a private beach.
    - Santa Marta (stay in El Rodadero):
Good: nice, clean beaches, beautiful hotels. Bad: Pricey, lots of people trying to sell you overpriced stuff in the beach.
    - San Andrés:
Good: beautiful waters, lots of interesting places to go to, English widely spoken. Bad: again, people bothering you all day trying to sell you stuff, not really Colombia from a cultural point of view (which can be good as well).

If your heart is not set on Colombia you should look into the honeymoon plans that they have in Cancun, Mexico - not really pricey for the quality of the hotels and the amount of food and drinks. Plus only guests are other honeymooners so no children!
