Flight info.. Making money

    Hi guys,

I'm involved in a company which is flying 2 plans a week to major locations around the world from Dublin

These 2 planes have been assigned to myself.

Basically I'm trying to break into the market but I'm a complete noob on the matter, studying healthcare havnt a clue.

There's plenty of space and I know that price is by KG. Where can I find statistics relating to how much is flown in and out of ireland to where and by whom. I've been told to maybe contact other companies like DHL as we work with them and see if they need any goods carried etc

Are there any books I should read to get me started? Appreciate all the help!

Edit: Just to comment on the bizarness of the situation, yes I'm not qualified for this but I've been giver an oppurtunity to make some serious cash so any help is welcome.

So you work in a company that has 2 flights a week leaving Dub going to major locations and you come onto an internet forum asking how it can make money?

Is this a real flight or virtual?

Without wanting to sound smart it sounds more like you have been given the opportunity to lose a serious amount of cash - if your description and approach are to be believed.

How do you become a millionaire in the airline industry? Start off as a billionaire!!!!

So the company you are working for "gave" you two planes to try & fill with something to make these twice weekly flights make some money.

Are you looking for passengers or cargo? ( presume cargo as you mention DHL)

On that, if you are doing work with them already, why not transport what you were with them yourself & cut out the middleman.

Why the mystery with the location of where they are going? There would be more chance of getting some ideas if people knew they were going to Miami or Greenland.

Sorry to upset ya there Lord but I still have my boards yearly supply of hookers and coke if ya need some?

Ya know they need to keep us monkeys happy.

Really have you told this to Air Contractors as they operate a lot of A/C for DHL in and out of DUB?
Dont think they would be to happy to know someone is stealing their busines or putting me outta the job! so what A/C type are ya using how many crew have you be designated?

Do you carry a AOC for this venture? Im not snooping just generally interested thats all.

This is going to get interesting.

Why would someone give you two aircraft to use if you haven't a clue what to do with them and have no knowledge of the industry. Surely your bosses PA would have more hope in this situation!

17 year old male looking for a job, I'm not particularly talented at anything.

Looking for any job that will pay minimum wage. My strengths if any are that I can do physical labor I guess, did well in the leaving but I doubt that matters.

So guys, where do I look/start looking? Any help at all is appreciated :)

    On further investigation:D

Leaving stanwick, distance between there and dublin will be covered via truck the supply chain manager will take care of that, but in this industry its so cheap to transverse it's considered almost the same location.

I'm not askink if it can make money, I know it can I'm looking for sources of info and statistics so I can start

There is nepotism in action of coarse, my family is in the industry. But are rather busy and I'd like to do this myself.

Cargo, the planes are flying half full, I'm to find cargo to fill them. We have offices in every major city in europe and the middle east, non in the US as we rent out planes to fly there. Hong kong is a good destination but again I need stats to be able to determine where. Any ideas?

    You sure about this?

Bit of a deviation from Med school to cargo transport too.

Look Iv looked through your previous posts and it seems that your story matches but jesus this particular post of yours and the thread you started is beyond daft! And to make it worse you said "stanwick airport" which sounds like you are deliberatley trying to wind people up. This aint no standard discussion website this is boards.ie and we know our stuff. Best of luck however if your story is true, very interesting and would be interested to know what you do with the cargo and how you can make money etc.

Nope, don't enjoy making fun of people but your op reads like a wind up or piss take tbh.

Whilst boards is a great resource and full of knowledgeable people who work in the Aviation industry, this ain't the place to get what you're looking for.

I'll take your advice and close it now before it reaches looney land city centre.

And I was tempted to throw it over to the dogs in After Hours, instead of close it.
