Heard yesterday that the price of coal is about 22 euro a bag. Earlier I was thinking of burning only coal in my stove this winter as last winter i burned wood/coal.I ran out of wood during the spring so I was only burning coal and was amazed on how little I used and got more heat out of the stove. So I'm thinking of getting a ton of coal (autumn deals). I burnt about 3 of the 1 ton bags of wood (about 80 euro each)and about 12 bags of coal last winter. A ton of coal would last into the following winter I reckon. Any feedback on this thought?

What kind of timber were you burning and how long was it seasoned for?

Spruce is grand it burns but that is it, if you tried well seasoned hardwood you would see some difference. Spruce will be spruce, cant make a race horse out of a donkey.
