    Hello everyone,
Im looking for a micro Hifi system with cd player and also capable of playing Flac and Wav files via usb connection (memory stick or external hard drive). Ill be looking for speakers included or recommended speakers for the system all in one package. Its a present for my Mother who currently has an old Bose wave radio, the cd player is broken. While she does still listen to cds, Id like to introduce her to Loseless Digital files. A good sounding system is obviously essential. Any recommendations would be greatly appreciated. It will also give me an idea of what sort of budget ill be needing to aim for, just hope such a system with these capabilities exists.
    Regards Stephen.

    Hi there,

Thankfully such a system does exist :)

Check out the Marantz MCR-610 at £430.00.  This is by far one of the best mini systems without going into mad money.  Sounds great and ticks all the boxes for streaming etc.  Well future proofed too :)

If you really want to go all out I'd pair this up with the new Monitor Audio Silver 1s at £499.95 for the wood finishes, or £549.95 for the gloss black or white finish :)  Can't recommend these speakers enough:

The total for this system would come in at £929.95.

If this is out of budget check out the Monitor Audio BX2s, series before the Silver models.  Still sound great!!

This system come in at £549.00.

Let me know what you think.
