Strange rattle, diesel Xtrail

    My 2.2dci Xtrail has developed a rattle/rasp when the engine is hot (especially after motorway driving). The rattle is only there at a certain point in the rev range (just under 2000rpm) once it gets past that it is ok. Any ideas what this might be?

    Could be a heat shield.

    They have a timing chain,could it be the chain?

    sounds more like a loose part tho

    I'm guessing it's something loose? Pipework bracket/heatshield?
