Got two computer builds of you lads over 2 years ago, want an upgrade now as I am giving my one to my cousin (hes paying me) so going to put it towards something a little bit more upgraded

all builds appreciated, looking to have it before september

1. What is your budget? 1000 (Can stretch it a little more if its bang for buck)

2. What will be the main purpose of the computer? Gaming on ultra if possible, watch dogs, skyrim bf4 etc... must be able to handle it on ultra and be future proofed for a year or two (if possible)

3. Do you need a copy of Windows? yes, windows 7 64bit unless has windows 8 improved at all?

4. Can you use any parts from an old computer? [Hard drive/DVD Drive/Case/PSU/etc.] nope selling it all

5. Do you need a monitor? YES, 20inch - 24inch max

6. Do you need any of these peripherals? Yes, need a mouse, preferribly a gaming one, keyboard, also need one of them things that can pick up a wireless signal as I won't be playing on a wired connection

7. Are you willing to try overclocking? nope never

8. How can you pay? bank transfer (HWVS)

9. When are you purchasing? this month

10. If you need help building it, where are you based? nope going to try it myself

needs to be quiet, the one I have now, sounds like a jet engine and its in an open space, well ventilated. Doesn't have to be very quiet just once it doesn't sound like a plane taking off I'll be happy:pac:

also would I be able to have the intel I7 instead of the i5? not sure if the i7 is better for gaming, if it can fit within my budget I'll take it but if not will the i5 do?

seen as its my first time building it myself maybe a tower? as I can see myself mixing any wires up or having it badly packed :L

€1050 including a 24" monitor w/o peripherals or OS (you can pick up a windows key for very cheap), is that too much? i5 vs i7 doesn't seem to justify the additional price IMO, might even be worth going with a 4590 if you're not going to overclock.

if no one else posts one, I'll probably buy this one and get the os off amazon and peripherals off a mate until I buy my own

I won't be over clocking but will want it somewhat future proofed so I don't mind the extra bit of power if its within budget

who knows I might overclock in the future too

You can get a really cheap (€7.50) Windows key on here: http://www.reddit.com/r/softwareswap/ if you know how to install Windows via USB. Works without flaw. Bought two myself only a day ago. Just register and contact a seller.

The 4590 and 4690K are in the same generation of CPUs, one is just unlocked for overclocking with a slightly faster clock speed. Would then be 1025, leaving more room for mouse+keyboard. You can pick up a wireless dongle on amazon for very cheap.

Be very careful when buying grey-market software keys. Some of these on other websites have been found to be obtained fraudulently and have later been dishonored.

I myself use greymarket keys and have had no problems but have witnessed many others be scammed or in one case even questioned by law enforcement because the key was bought with a stolen credit card.

I just want to make sure its balanced and that its all fully compatible with each other? if someone has any suggestions to remove something and replace it with something else I am within budget so I can afford to switch something out for something more expensive if its bang for buck

Also the keyboard is their as well but I think its a standerd UK-Irish one as I checked the picture and all keys seem to be the same as the one I am using now

Will be buying friday if its put together

also will this build be able to play watch dogs etc... on ultra?:)

edit: I went for the gtx760 instead of the 770, again I am not a techie but is their much difference? if its more powerfull I will get the 770 as it will only be abit over my budget

By Looking at it you don't need that motherboard as you don't plan on overclocking. Any H87/H81 motherboard will do.

Also 16GB of Ram will never be used for gaming. Well not for a long long time so 8gb is perfectly fine.

A much more powerful system than the one you had posted. Xeon is an I7 without the overclocking capabilities. R9 290 is an absolute beast and best bang for buck right now. A lot lot stronger than a gtx 760.

Looks all good. You might have some headaches with a Z87 board rather than a Z97 with a Haswell refresh CPU, as the BIOS might need to be updated, requiring an older Haswell chip to do so. So it'd be better to play it safe and get a Z97 board.

The 760 is a good card for the money, but if you can stretch for the 770 it'll be worth it in the future. It will give you more longevity if you're looking to play at ultra settings.

Its good advice about using an older mobo with a new cpu and he is correct about maybe needing to update the bios.

Because theres better value for money. No need for 16gb of ram and a 100 euro motherboard when the user will never use it.

So I'll drop the ram to 8gb (Got abit carried away with it haha)
get the Z97 board
switch to a gtx770, I would like to get the R9 290 but I think the extra 2gb would be wasted? also I heard it has bad heating problems? Would it even work with my build? Like I said I don't know much about this stuff still learning. I would like to get it but I think the 770 will do as far as future proofing it for a year or so.
I also forgot to add a fan into that build as well, any suggestions? or are they all the same.
I will also drop from 2tb down to 1tb hd, I can always add the extra in if needed
that should keep it all within my budget. I hope ha
