I don't want to get the CP-623 but am looking for back cover protection and also screen plastic.
    Any recommendations?

Amazon is your best bet or ebay.

I was thinking more of what to get instead of where to get it.

Zagg is getting some good reviews on youtube. They do front and back films.

I use gel cases they absorb better if dropped, most gel cases you buy come with screen protector on amazon.
There is a lip over front of screen with these gel cases so its quite safe...

I just go with the cheap gel cases and I've yet to crack/damage a screen despite dropping phones lots of times

Though I do have a nice red hard shell cover for the 1320 that looks nice I think.

Never bother with screen protectors - the bubbles annoy me!
