    Hi Guys

My fiance and I are looking into making our own scroll wedding invitations. We can't seem to find anywhere in Ireland that sells dowel rods and caps. Does anyone know of anywhere we would get these.

    Thanks

You can easily buy dowel in any diy shop, it is possible to buy round wooden beads that are half drilled, to use as caps, you need to be looking for wooden ball heads - there are some here http://factorydirectcraft.com/catalog/categories/1302_2110_2235-wooden_doll_heads_and_bodies.html

However, you do not need dowel, print your invite on good parchment effect paper, roll it up and stick with a blob of sealing wax and a bit of ribbon. You will need small tubes to post them in.

Thanks for that - we have done a tester of the scroll and looks really good (tea bag effect, burnt edges). We have thought about the scrolls minus the dowels but think the dowel would look better. What would be the best type of paper for the parchment?
