Bought a PB / NR Lim heifer at the mart today. Just wondering how do I go about getting her registered. Bought off a neighbour who has the dam and the sire was out of AI. Any info appreciated.

I'd say contact the society. You will most likely have to do a dna test. How old is she?

you can't register her unless you bred her!!

Yes, you'll have to pay for it, in a similar suitation with a CH here. Membership paid etc.
It could be expensive, but best donethan regret later

Yes, as Farrell said above. If you explain the situation they should be able to DNA her and approve her. May help if the breeder still has AI slip, but after 20 months, perhaps not ;)

Actually, here's a bit I got in the post yesterday -
'If a member intends on holding 2013 animals as commercials and not registering as pedigree could you please inform the society of this by 31st August 2014. On the other hand, if you wish to register an animal and have not returned hair samples to ICBF please ensure to do so by 31st August 2014. If you require haircards to be issued please contact society office''

So there you are! Get on to the society ASAP.

Also see they have introduced a de-reg system for animals that will refund the breeder in case of casualty/slaughter. That's a bit of good news for the pocket.
