    Hi,

In the not too distant future i want to buy a medium size sporty SUV. I saw a MI350 AMG today and it looked nice. I'm not sure if i could get that model in ireland but i'm looking for something in the range of Audi q5 or bmw x3 size. Any other mercedes models like this?

I think the merc GLK is the one in that range? You see a few of them around, all diesels obviously. They look nice tbh. There is no actual AMG version but you can get an AMG sports package which is purely cosmetic as far as I can see. It's not listed on the Mercedes Ireland website though... http://www.mercedes-benz.ie/content/ireland/mpc/mpc_ireland_website/enng/home_mpc/passengercars/home/new_cars/Retail_Price_List.flash.html

Maybe i could get one up north, I wouldn't be able to afford the actual AMG version anyway but the AMG package does look nice.

Ring a dealer and see what they say. I'm almost certain I've seen a few with irish reg plates.

I was reading on RTE motors that this model only comes in left hand drive:confused:

GLK is not sold this side of the world,GLA might suit although its basically a pumped up A class.

Ok since the GLK is left hand drive and hard to get here whats the closest sporty merc suv to it? (Not GLA don't really like that)

The Ml would be the closest even though its big like X5,RR etc, only other merc suv are the gl class,g wagen which are bigger again.

The M Class is really the only SUV Merc sell here and even that was outsold by the BMW X5 and Audi Q7 during the Celtic Tiger years. Mercedes haven't really offered a smaller SUV rival to the X3 or Q5 here yet. The new compact GLA is competing against the smaller X1 and Q3.

Mercedes has bit of an image problem especially in Ireland which they are trying to address with the introduction of new more youthful and inspiring designs like the new A Class, C Class, CLA and GLA.

ML 250 isn't bad looking, but then again neither is the SQ5
