    Not an award from my reading of it but a settlement approved by the Judge. Negotiations probably went down to the wire. I'm open to correction but the case wasn't heard and therefore no precedent is likely to be set.

    Not totally beyond the pale if the kid was having nightmares etc.

    I wonder if I can sue the A-team for that stock footage (I think from a bond movie) where they crash into the side of a cliff, explode and then it cuts to the walking away. :pac:

    It's a settlement so it's not an award. The only reason the Judge had anything to do with it is because settlements for minors have to be brought to the courts attention for approval. Mostly a formality. If the defendants saw fit to agree to 10k, that's up to them solely.

    But don't you know it's always the judges fault, and they decide on compensation with no evidence as to liability or quantum, well according to a large number of threads on boards.
