No scart connection because i dont have a sky box,its down in the main office. The tv is connected to and aerial socket thats in the wall. its just weird cuz the saorview has sound but the others dont?!

What make of tv is it?

It's possible you have the wrong PAL setting selected, I think it should be PAL I.

(Is the sound working on other tvs?)

Haven't found an online manual yet, but I would suggest you look carefully at the set up menus esp the tuning section.

If I find a manual I should be able to give more detail

i have seen this before, these tv's sometimes store the incorrect sound settings on the analogue sky channels, they seem to store BG which is the old continental sound setting instead of I which is the correct option for the uk and ireland,as the modulator in the sky box is outputting a PAL I signal
    from memory you need to
put on the sky channel on the tv.
    press menu on tv remote
scroll across to red box option (install and retune)
    press ok
scroll down to analogue scan or single analogue scan and you will see the sound option will probably display BG rather than I
scroll down to sound setting and press the right arrow key until you get I
select search and it will rescan this channel only and store it on the correct I setting.
    hope this helps,
as i am going from memory i hope i havnt left anything out.

i tried that but it wouldnt give me the option to move up to change to I. what did work though was doing an analogue retune and that did the trick! problem now is that my saorview channels are fine but get fuzzy now and then!think its the signal though to be honest. Ill get onto the landlord tomorrow about that

THANKS FOR ALL THE HELP :)
