Hi I'm hoping to go to college in the National College of Ireland.
I currently live in the baldoyle/Donaghmede area and could commute their in 30 minutes.
I have gotton a job in town which is 12 hours per week at €8.65 P/H.
Would i be mad to move out of my folks so i have my independence or should i stay living with them ?

I don't think you can afford to move out. Are you getting a grant, presumingly the adjacent rate?

How old are you? If you are a teenager, stay put, rent is only one part of your costs, ESB,phone, food, TV, socialising will drain your finances. Nothing can beat mums dinners and your own bed on a cold winters evening.

based on the hours and rate you mentioned, it is not enough to get by.. you'll probably be getting a box room (if you can even find one that is cheap in the city centre close by) and have not much else left for other stuff..

stick with the commute and save the money..

Sorry but I don't think that will be enough to get by on with the costs of flats etc.

You'd barely be clearing 100 a week from 12 hours work @ 8.65 an hour.
Unless you have some mysterious benefactor that you haven't alluded to- the figures don't add up.
You cannot afford to move out- you don't have the money.
