All I know is that last year some companies were recruiting fund accountants without accounting degrees. The money was pretty good aswel so I think it's a general aptitude test.

Hey Young Blood, which companies that you know of? And would they still look for a general business degree, or any discipline?

I don't remember the names but it was lex consultancy who were recruiting on behalf of them. They required a fairly good leaving cert though which I thought was stupid considering I did the leaving over 10 years ago and went back as a mature student.

I've enrolled into a fund accounting course with DBS and hopefully that will get me into the profession.

A 2.1 degree in a business/financial related degree was what they were looking for.

It's one profession that's currently in demand in Ireland at the moment.
