Should I replace both shocks at the same time?

My car failed NCT on the Suspension test:

Front axel nearside was 79Mm, Offside was 42Mm, an imbalance of 47%.

Should I get both axels done or just the front left? Any ideas on how much something like this would cost?

Always replace front/back shocks in pairs. Ideally you'd do all four. Prices vary - what sort of car is it?

    Do the front pair anyway.

Yes, now wait for some bloody fool to come along to tell you just to replace one...

Get the two front shock absorbers replaced. You don't need to get the ones at the rear done at the same time, provided they have passed the nct and are in good condition.

Type your reg into micksgarage.com for a price.

Or search ebay but remember to factor in postage.
