Thanks to Strawberry Swan who brought this up in the Photobuddies thread - there is a fireworks finale night in Bray on Monday night as part of the Bray Summerfest.

If you would be interested in meeting up and taking some shots - vote in the poll and we can pull together a time/meeting place etc. if there is interest.

Exciting! I've not had the chance to shoot fireworks before - bar the occasional wire wool experiments. :)

I'm still planning on going - I don't know Bray at all though, or what time it's all kicking off at! Anyone know a good spot for meeting/taking shots?!

    Yep it's on -
    Bray Summerfest
Finale Fireworks tonight with activity from 9.30pm! EAST COAST FM winner will be there to push the button! ‪#‎bsf14‬
from Facebook. I've tweeted at them to check times but I think fireworks are about 10.45pm - I'm aiming to be there for 10 :)

I'm out and about now so can't check google maps etc to see the area but if anyone wants to meet up set a time/location and I'll see you there.

Bray seafront is about a mile long, harbour at one end and Bray Head at the other. About 3/4 along is a bandstand - towards the Head end. The website says that the fireworks are going to be north of the bandstand.
I'll be near the bandstand from about 9:30 - 10.

I hope some of you made it out - even if we missed you! That was just amazing :)
Here are a couple, it's beyond my bedtime so had to just take a peek.

Lovely evening in Bray. That was fun.
I learned that I should have taken photos from the Head rather that close by the launch site - like this lovely image by Mystic89 in the Random Photos thread.

I'll post up some of mine when I get round to editing...or if there is anything worth posting. :)

I saw a few on twitter alright this morning and they are lovely with the background when taken from Bray head - even have firework reflections on the water. Next year... :D

Yay, I've just gotten 3 years younger, cheers OldGoat :p

Thanks, I have mixed feelings about my photos - it could have went much better, I had the wrong lens on for the bigger fireworks that went off towards the end as they wouldn't fit in my frame and I didn't want to go changing the lens during the show!

Did ye meet up? How did ye recognize each other? There was loads of photographers there! :)

Ahhh Cork_Girl and myself have met on a few previous occasions. Mind you all the previous occasions were a lot quieter. Trying to find anyone in last nights crowd was optimistic at best. Perhaps when we have another photo-walk we shall meet.
I did talk momentarily with another photographer last night, by the 'chair-o-plane' as we waited to shoot it. Wasn't you by any chance? :)

Ammm, I was talking to a few but I don't think I was talking at the chair-o-plane, haha. What time was that at?

About 20 - 30 minutes after the end of the fireworks. We decided to try for a shot of the fairground ride in action. When it eventually started they never turned on the lights. We didn't bother waiting for it to start up again.

I think we put a jinx on the place, first the lights on the chair-o-plane went just as we decided we would shoot it - then one by one the rest followed suit. Will take a look to see what's on the card when I get home - but it was a great night. Was nice and warm too - standing on the beach so late at night and not a chill in the air :)

Ah OK, well I had a longer walk so that would have delayed me, plus I intended on doing the same thing but like you said, everything closed down... hopefully I'll get some next week in Kerry!

I got so caught up in shooting that I forgot to chimp. Most of the bursts were out of frame.
    Live and learn.
