Started watching this the other night.
Investment banker Neil Truman (Matt Passmore) and his wife Grace (Stephanie Szostak) confront their relationship and life issues when Neil finds his wife having intercourse with another man.

That description sounded like a yawn fest when I read it but I decided I'd give it a chance seing as I had nothing better to watch. Turns out it's not the dull, serious show I was expecting. It has a nice balance of serious and funny and so far I find it very engaging. It impressed me more than Rush so far which is airing newly along side it on USA.

yeah first 2 episode were solid, getting an american beauty kind of vibe off it,

i loved how he told his boss twice to more or less go **** himself, and all it lead to was a promotion:D

and i was in stitches with the song his daughter sang also,

I liked the pilot - vibes of both Enlightened and Hung off it.

Episode 2 - not so much - more toned down - must see 3 to decide.

Watched the first four episodes now and I'm loving it so far; I'm very curious to see where this will go.

    Btw, trailer.

Finalé was this week and overall I have to say that for season 1 the quality was very strong throughout. What I really liked about the series was that they could have gone the trashy, raunchy route showing Neil's escapades along with dodging jealous husbands and near misses with friends but they focused on much more adult themes such as Neil's actual relationship and dealt with deeper issues such as the nature of love, marriage and what it means or doesn't mean. For me it just struck the perfect balance between being thought provoking and entertaining. I can't really point to very many shows at all that managed that in a way that particularly appealed to me.

In my initial post I mentioned it was a better show than Rush. I've come to really warm to Rush as well but while I felt Rush needed a few episodes to bed in, Satisfaction set out it's stall day 1 and remained consistent and engaging from the get go.

Now comes the wait for renewal. I have a sinking feeling that Satisfaction will be cancelled. It seems to have performed OK, but only OK and whether that'll be enough for USA to continue is another story. There's also precedence in that shows like this that I've really and truly loved over the years have almost always been cancelled. Fingers crossed in this case. The show definitely deserves to live on. If I had sway at USA and a show had to go, I'd pick Graceland. I think this season has been sub par. Let's hope they all get a shot to live on though.
