So I got a job as an independent contractor for a company which was supposed to be flexible & just in my local area. Instead I'm being given jobs at the last minute which are not that close. It is costing me more to get to and from these jobs then the rate I get paid! Should I just throw in the towel now? The job was only to last me until I went back to college anyway.

You should request mileage or at least a higher rate for taking on the job.
Other than that, you're independent so why would you take on unprofitable jobs? It doesn't make a lot of sense.

Thanks Mrs O'Bumble! Just needed to hear someone else say it.
