Hisense 42-inch 3D LED SmartTV UltraHD – the TV of the future, score it today!
UltraHD is the FullHD of the future. But with four times as many pixels on the same size screen. You won’t see anything more realistic: Four times FullHD! Too bad you’ll also have to pay four times as many euro’s for such a screen. So the idea that you will soon have a TV UltraHD standing / hanging is not really realistic. Ha! Think again, because what ís realistic is the iBOOD of today! Hisense is not that well known in Europe, but in Asian countries, it is just one of the ‘big boys’. Did-you-know-moment: Hisense has recently acquired the German Loewe. An interesting combination; the technique of Hisense and design of Loewe. But let’s face it: this 42-inch 3D Smart TV UltraHD may as well be called a beaurty with its virtually edgeless finish, chic white bezel and polished stainless steel foot! You hear, we are already very enthusiastic, and then we have not even mentioned that this Hisense is also equipped with active 3D, a dual-core processor, 400Hz technology, SmartTV, Web Browser, USB recording and built-in Wi-Fi .. . UltraHD is now no longer future music. See the specifications themselves, score that UltraHD TV and step into the future!

I hate the way leopards appear on screen @ 1080....

    "Hisense?" Sounds reliable.

And that leopard comparison image... Besides the fact that they've blurred the image on the left, are we to take away from it that 4K simply makes colours brighter? :-/

Judging by all the amazon warehouse deals on the German site, these are being returned quicker than they are being bought!!

    8 warehouse deals for the 42" and 12 + 17 for the 50" models.

I bought a Hisense TV a couple of years ago from Harvey Norman at a rather hefty price (and weight, the bloody thing nearly pulled my living room wall down) but just after my warranty ran out it died on me. When I opened it up to have a look inside, all the components were Samsung!
In the end, I decided the cost of repair wasn't justified so I bought a nice new 46" Samsung LED TV (I was looking for an excuse to upgrade).

Haven't heard of this before. Is this important?

HISENSE like all the "lower" brands , sometimes they are perfect and last years , GF's Dad has had his about 5years now not one problem , but I have been handed others just over a year old to repair and they were awful inside.

still €430 for 4k tv ....very tempting

pity my wages have not gone through yet today ...F-U BOI ,,, F-U

no HVEC as far as I'm aware. Pixmania FR have this at 480E. Affordable unit for those looking for a 4K TV. The problem is getting 4K content to play on it!

Have to wonder why it's almost halved in price a few months after launch.

Am tempted by this but a thread about this model (42K680) on GearSlutz suggests it's not very useful as a PC monitor, due to input lag and no DisplayPort input (so only 30Hz refresh rate on max resolution). This would also impact future 4K content from other external devices, such as BluRay players.

Some people will argue you should wait until next year until new technology X is released or current technology is 50% cheaper
Others will argue that you'd never buy anything if you take that approach

I would argue you shouldn't buy a 4K TV until 4K content is ubiqutious in which case 4K TVs will probably be 50% cheaper and you can watch some 4K content on them

the argument has also been made that some of the current lower end 4K TV's can display 1080p content at lesser quality than the current high end 1080p TV's due to the lack of maturity in the product (and the tricks used to get the most out of the content) compared to a good 1080p TV.
