World E-Sports Championship Games

So it seems there is to be another attempt at making an Olympic style e-sports event, ala World Cyber Games, and they recently announced USF4 as the latest game.

Four cities covering Asia, Europe and America with an annual tournament in each city. Starting with a "Grand Final" in December 2014 and then I presume it's every four years for the grand final. Seems a bit crazy to run the first one six months after the initial announcement especially given, as far as I've seen, relatively little hype.

Being run by GMGC which specialises in organising large scale events and seems to be respected and growing considering it's members and growth in subscribers. Sponsored by the largest mobile developer in China and I have to imagine some involvement from the Chinese government, organisation, funding and desire seems to be without questions.

But how much do people really want general events? Assuming that this is expected to be a premier event can it really compete with The International, Evo or the SC Championship Series.

Any thoughts or interest. Think it's too late to lobby for Dublin as the European city?
