    Hi everyone, first post here.
I'm planning on moving away for six months in January 2015. I'm looking to go somewhere I could live on 800 euro per month including rent, but not sure where to go as I am not exactly well travelled. I want to go somewhere warm and safe, and had been looking at a number of places eg. Thailand, Vietnam, and Varna in Bulgaria. Has anyone any suggestions on where is a good and cheap place, doesn't have to be the places I mentioned. Thanks

How would Bulgaria be warm in January?

How about Kerala in India or Goa? India would be fairly cheap and lots of options.

    Central or South America.

For 800€ per month, you can travel, eat, visit, sleep and enjoy some times there.

South America, South-East Asia ... they're the easiest and safest and best all-rounders. It might be worth checking inflation rates in South America, though. It may not affect tourists as they always pay some kind of premium above locals, but, e.g. in Argentina, it's been running at around 30% the last few years.

India would probably be cheap, too, but I've never been.

I would second India, it's a great time time to go too and your money will go very far. You could even go up overland to Nepal around Feb-Mar also.

Cuba can be very expensive. Have you considered Cambodia? Easy to get to from Thailand and a hell of a lot cheaper, Cambodia is really starting to open up to tourism and the infrastructure isn't quite there yet but there are plenty of good cheap choices in Phnom Penh, a ten dollar bus journey will bring you to Siem Reap and Angkor Wat where it's even cheaper. 50 cent for a beer in the main tourist areas can't be bad and that's US cent!

I found Cambodia (Siem Reap and Phnom Penh anyway) slightly more expensive than Thailand and Vietnam.

Seriously? For what? I found Phnom Penh to be very cheap and Siem Reap to be even cheaper for pretty much everything.

Accomodation, basics. Slightly more expensive. I think because of the dollar inflating prices.

I was only there last year and it was 50 us cent for a beer in SR and maybe a dollar in PP, that's about 30 Thai Baht and it's hard to find a beer for that in Thailand, same with massages, taxi's, laundry etc. Accommodation isn't quite as varied as Thailand but again found really ice places for about 30 Euro a night in both PP and SR. To be honest I found it hard to spend money in Cambodia.

Yeah, Bulgaria is going to be cold in January.
East Asia is cheap and warm at that time of year (Thailand, Vietnam, etc). So is Western Africa (like Senegal, Cape Verde) - it's a cheaper flight and a lower language barrier but a good bit rougher.
Latin America and the Caribbean are also lovely at that time of year, but the flight is as expensive or more so than going to Asia, and the cost of living is also higher.

^^Never found the language barrier to be a problem in SE Asia, pleasantly surprised by the quality of English spoken in Cambodia.
