Hangers through security

Am heading over to a wedding in England tomorrow with just hand luggage so will be bringing a suit carrier/bag. Does anyone have experience of travelling with one, will I be allowed bring the hanger past security? Did a bit of Google-ing and all the results were US based. Travelling Knock-London if that makes a difference.

Wire hanger could be problem, I don't see why the typical plastic hangers in suit carriers should be.

Ya I thought as much. I wouldn't have thought of it at all until someone said it to me. They'd hardly pull it up on the wire hook?

I suppose even a hook could be a problem, but so could the buckle on the bag strap!

It'll be fine, I had no problems travelling on multiple occasions to UK / Ireland / Netherlands with a suit and a hanger.

I've been OK with a wooden hanger with wire hook. All-plastic if you want to be sure to be sure.
