    Hi guys,

    Looking to invest the above in stocks & shares. Have a good idea of the companies I want to invest in but looking for the best route. Have heard people recommend saxo but I'm not sure about going down the road of opening a new bank account to trade in sterling. Any recommendations are appreciated. Thanks

    Try the guys at Redmayne Bentley in Cork. Best rates for a phone broker, no annual account charge and you can fund your account in Euro. If you want to buy in £ you can just convert on purchase. Tell them Marcel send you and they'll look after you real well. :-)

    Was just quoted a deposit of 8,500 euros to open a saxo account, does this sound about right to people with previous experience

    OP requirement is "Looking to invest the above in stocks & shares" which he can do using TD.

    He can do this with Saxo also or am I missing something?
    They wanted an initial deposit of 8500 eur. He wants to invest 10,000?
    Whats the problem?

    I offered one!

    I looked at Saxo and decided against them as you cannot trade on the Irish Stock market with them.

    ok. I believe they enabled the Irish stock exchange in the last few months

    Are these Irish companies or what exchange are they traded on?
