WWE Smackdown Spoilers and Results - 1st August 2014

WWE Smackdown *Spoilers*
August 1st 2014

(1) Jack Swagger (w/ Zeb Colter) def. Cesaro. Cesaro almost won the match, but Swagger busted out the Patriot Lock for the submission win. Apparently Swagger is getting a pretty decent babyface reaction.

-Rusev and Lana came out did their usual shtick, and challenged Swagger to a match at SummerSlam, and Zeb Colter accepted.

-Randy Orton came out for a promo, and challenged Roman Reigns to a match at SummerSlam.

-Dean Ambrose gets his match against Seth Rollins tonight…but it’s a 2-on-1 handicap match with Kane.

(2) R-Truth def. Bo Dallas (via DQ). Bo wouldn’t break a 5-count in the ropes, and the ref threw out the match.

(3) WWE Divas Champion AJ Lee def. Alicia Fox in a non-title match.

-As AJ Lee was leaving up the ramp, Paige came out and attacked her. Later on there’s a segment with the medics taking away AJ in a stretcher.

(4) Kane & Seth Rollins def. Dean Ambrose (via DQ). Basically Ambrose said “screw it” and started beating down Kane with a steel chair. Rollins ran for the hills, and Dean kept attacking Kane to prove his point.

(5) Diego of Los Matadores def. Fandango. Summer Rae and Layla were with Diego, and caused enough of a distraction to cost Fandango the match.

(6) Alberto del Rio def. Dolph Ziggler. Intercontinental Champion The Miz comes out and stands on the commentary table. Ziggler goes after him, but ADR attacks him and puts on the Cross Arm Breaker for the win.

(7) Chris Jericho def. Eric Rowan. The stipulation here was that if Jericho won, Rowan would be banned from ringside at SummerSlam. Harper was immediately sent to the back as the match began.

If you'd told me at Mania that Swagger vs Cesaro would see Swagger winning as the triumphant babyface, I'd have laughed at you....

Shows just how far Cesaro has fallen all because they refused to go with the crowd reaction again.

I read a different set last night and it had AJ beating Rosa Mendez. I know some Divas are interchangeable but they don't even look alike :pac:

- Jack Swagger def. Cesaro with the Patriot Act before Rusev and Lana showed up and a Flag match was made official for SummerSlam.
- Randy Orton cut a promo on Roman Reigns to help build to their match at SummerSlam.
- R-Truth def. Bo Dallas, this time via disqualification because Bo wouldn't stop when prompted by the referee. More mean streak.
- AJ Lee def. Rosa Mendes with the Black Widow in a squash match. Aren't they taping Total Divas with Rosa on the cast? After, they did a post-match beatdown with Paige jumping AJ and beating her up so bad they did a stretcher job.
- Seth Rollins & Kane def. Dean Ambrose via disqualification when Ambrose grabbed a chair and EXPLICIT AMBROSE VIOLENCE. Rollins, of course, ran away before he could get his.
- Diego def. Fandango with help from Summer Rae & Layla.
- Alberto Del Rio def. Dolph Ziggler with the Cross Armbreaker thanks to help from The Miz, who was once again on commentary.
- Chris Jericho def. Erick Rowan despite attempted interference from Luke Harper. They added a stipulation that if Jericho won, Rowan couldn't accompany Bray Wyatt at ringside at SummerSlam.

Yes he's been injuried for a while now.
