    Neighbor of mine has a bitch that has it for a long time now, over a year and nothing is doing the job - ear drops , powder , anti biotics. Nothing is making it go away. Think the only thing left to do is poor the poor thing down. The smell is absolutely horrendous :(

    Tell your neighbour to change the vet. Any competant vet should have taken a sample and had it examined for what is exactly causing this mess by now. It can be multiple of things,mites in the dogs bedding,food allergy,enviroment allergy, stress etc
    Find the cause of it then it can be treated very quickly although some breeds like Labs and retrivers can be very prone to it.

    No problem. I asked the same question of an experienced trialling and shooting man a few years ago and he told me about it. I've never looked back since.
