    Hi.

While walking on Portmarnock beach recently, I noticed lots of lugworm markings on the sand.

Is there a sort of etiquette for digging for lugworms, i.e.,can one dig anywhere for them or is it frowned upon in certain places?

    Dig where you want.
It doesnt happen too often, but the odd cranky comercial digger might say your digging his lug beds but tell him to f*@k right off.

Dig where you want, just remember to backfill.

Back fill holes for safety, and to maintain the intertidal habitat.

There have been issues in the past, it wouldn't be a nice situation if County Councils passed by-laws forbidding bait collecting, would it?
