August Bank Holiday Arrangements 2014

    I know most people would know the arrangements by now, but just in case anyone is stuck..

    Office Opening Hours

    All of the Department's Offices will be closed on Bank Holiday Monday, 4th August 2014.

    Note: All Post Offices will also be closed on Bank Holiday Monday, 4th August 2014.

    Signing Arrangements for Jobseeker's Customers

    Jobseeker's Customers who are due to sign at their Local Social Welfare Office on Monday, 4th August 2014 will not have to do so. Normal signing arrangements apply for the rest of the week.

    Payment Arrangements

    EIT – Payment via the Post Office

    Payments due on Monday, 4th August may be collected from Saturday 2nd August (please note that your Post Office may close at lunch-time on Saturday 2nd August and not reopen until Tuesday 5th August).

    Payment directly to an account in a financial institution – (Electronic Fund Transfer (EFT))

    Payments due on Monday 4th August will be paid on Friday 1st August.

    Maybe adding that Child Benefit will not be in banks until Tuesday either... some people still haven't copped that it's changed.

    Thought child benefit was always payable first Tuesday of the month.

    It used to go into bank accounts on the Saturday of a Bank Holiday weekend before SEPA came in.
