I finally have my own space, still pretty limited but I'm gonna make use of it and stop paying gym fees.

I've no experience in buying equipment so I'm not sure what they're exactly worth or the quality of them, but I've been shopping around for some 2nd hand stuff at the moment and came across a few bits that I'd yer opinion on.

    On my list is :

    Thick rubber mat max 6ft x 10ft
Entry level Squat rack(would ideally like to double this to allow benching too)
    A Bench
    Olympic bar
    100kg in plates

I have a budget of around maximum 800-900 euro but Ideally I'd obviously like to get some good condition 2nd hand stuff to knock the price down a bit, it's a maximum not a target.

Been looking at this set on Adverts, would maybe need to replace the bar clean it up.

    Thoughts? good value?

going off Irish lifting (http://www.irish-lifting.com/gym-equipment-c-1.html) prices, 70kg weights new would be about €140, cheapest bar €110, bench €165, squat rack €200 so could be some value there but you'd probably need to check them out, bar could be bent, rusted etc.. I can't make out the brand on the rack either if you can might be worth googling for reviews, it looks reasonably sturdy....it's adverts so can always haggle too

I've a gym in the shed, it's pretty well equipped. I have a power cage, but if I was doing it again I'd get a small rig made by Odin. It would take up less space and have a better chin bar across the top.

I've made a few bits and pieces as well.

In the pic you can see a jump box, on top is a sort of semi-circle thing which sits on top of the jump box so it can be used as a GHD. The wood on the walls can be used for different things, the high one is for tucking the feet into when using the GHD, the lower ones are for sit ups and nordic falls.

Is this a pre made rig? or do you mean you'd design something and have them make it?

    They make stuff to order.
A power cage has 4 uprights, if you get a small rig, you can have 2 uprights, attached to the wall at the top.

This is our supplier's website. Obviously, you won't be ordering from australia, but might give you some ideas if you decide to get something made up, especially the attachments.

Wall mounted ones are probably the more relevant, but the freestanding ones have some good set ups.
